Kicking off 2016

Pack 104 is off to a great start for the 2016-17 season. We had an opening weekend campout, which was a new experience. The boys had a great time cooking dinner over the fire, planting seeds, and playing with water balloons. We ended the evening with a campfire program and s'mores. Most of the families stayed overnight in the Camp Sacajaweca lodge. We wound down with a movie, and got up Sunday for breakfast and a hike. It was a fun way to get back in touch after not seeing each other as much over the summer.

Our first den meeting was a little bit non-traditional. The Webelos and Arrow of Light dens joined together to create self-portraits. The Wolf den was joined by a couple of new Tigers and Lions for an animal hunt on the grounds of Easter.

We're ready to have a fun year. Come be a part of it!

Camp Akela for current Lions, Tigers, Bears, and Wolves is scheduled for June 19-21.  This is a great time to spend one-on-one time with your son.  Camping is always a highlight of a kid’s summer and scouting experience.  Sign up in the back!  The theme this year:  CAMPING WITH SASQUATCH.  The shirt will be amazing.  Bears have the option of staying an extra night at Outpost.

Selling brats at Von Hansens (on Duckwood Drive in Eagan) the past couple years helped us earn the money needed for the new pinewood derby track.  This year, we will be selling brats on May 16-17, 2015.  To sign up for a shift, talk to Andrew Garnett.

On April 26, 2014, North Star Council will have a booth at Rainbow Foods in Eagan to collect food for the food shelf.  Pack 104’s shift is from noon – 2pm.  We are asking the boys to help for a 45 minute shift.  A sign-up sheet will be available at the April pack meeting.

FMSC Monday 3/3 6:00pm

We will be packing food at Feed My Starving Children for our pack meeting tomorrow (Monday).  We are starting at 6:00pm, an hour earlier than our normal meeting time.  I have included below a few key points, many of you received this from an email  that FMSC sent out last week:

  • Come 15 minutes early
  • Wear closed-toed shoes
  • Feel free to bring your camera
  • Follow FMSC's age requirements
  • Leave all jewelry at home. See FMSC’s jewelry policy

Do NOT...

  • Come to pack if you're ill
  • Pack if you have severe food allergies
  • Forget to manage your group (cancel, add names, change group size) online if you are a group leader
  • Bring children under age 5
  • Wear any jewelry (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc). You will be required to remove them

Plan for your son to wear a class B uniform for this meeting.  This would be a scouting T-shirt like the blue dinosaur shirt or the yellow shirt he received for summer camp this past year.  Many of the awards and pins on the Class A uniform would need to be removed to pack, so please don’t wear it.

FMSC is located at 990 Lone Oak Road, Suite 136 Eagan, MN 55121 near the intersection of Lone Oak and Neil Armstrong Blvd.  For those that have packed there before, please note that their office has moved to the north side of the building in the past year.

The Eagan Lions Club is our Chartered Organization.  Lions Clubs around the country collect used glasses for people in need.  We will have a box in back to collect used glasses.  This is a great opportunity to clean out a drawer!
